Doing Flues because of the (not) flu

Another coronavirus hike. Transport courtesy of the Mobilityabo. The idea was to have a nice hike where we minimize contact with others by spending as much time as possible on unmarked paths.

We parked at Joggenhus and started climbing along the farm road through the fields. When the road starts contouring, we leave it (and the marked path) and continue across the fields, up, up, around the Chastenchöpfli, and then back onto a marked path that leads us up, up to the Hirnichopf. There's one other person up here, but plenty of space for a nice break to enjoy the view. Then onwards along the nice path on the ridge, passing a few more people (won't be empty on the Hirnichopf for long!), and a ton of cool cairns, until we hit the end of the ridge, where we descend to the road.

Cross the road and then steeply down into the woods on an unmarked trail that leads us into a crazy stone amphitheater (with ice and snow!) under the Sigbach falls. Then up the other side to the ridge and then back along the ridge to the top of the falls, where we follow the trail along the Sigbach tand through a really nice wooded valley.

At the end of the valley, up up again to the ridge of the Ämmenegg and then along *another* nice path to the end of that and back onto more populated paths. Here we opt not to make the loop (considerably) longer by going towards Passwang and, instead, start heading downwards. Down, down to Hinter Geissberg where we take another food break in a nice bench in the sun and then down the forest road, through the Chessiloch, always heading down until we hit the big road at Neuhüsli. We've ended a couple tours here, but we need to get back to the car, so there's more to do today. Up the hill out of town, and then a gently climbing traverse under the Güpfichopf and to Beinwil.
Through the cloister, then down to the road and around the corner to get back to the car.

Good old Gerstelgrat

Another corona virus activity. Transport with the Mobility abo.
We had intended to do the Gerstelgrat in February, but that didn't happen. Seemed like a pretty safe thing to be doing while social distancing, so off we went.

It's always fun to do the Gerstelgrat! :-)

Track:
Stats: 4:45 (2:10 for the ridge itself, with breaks), 6km, 620m up and down

A long loop from home

We aren't supposed to use public transport because of the corona virus, so we were going to cycle to a crag and do some climbing, but someone stole Andrea's bike on Saturday night. Unbelievable...
The weather was nice and we still really wanted to do something outside, so we just pulled all the climbing gear out of our packs and started walking. 33km later we were back home. :-)
